All Of Me

"Cuz all of me loves all of you"

What a beautiful line... John legend really knows how to write! I was listening to this song yesterday and was really really impressed.. smashing tune and brilliant lyrics.  Listen to it.
I don't how many you guys heard about it but recently a teenage boy living in the UK actually tried to commit suicide because he was not able to capture the perfect selfie! Now this is just really really disturbing! I mean the guy dropped out of school and spent ten hours a day clicking selfies on his iPhone. Finally one day he got so depressed because he was not able to click the ideal snap that he decided to end his life... I mean!!! Seriously, our society is really messed up right now.
I just finished reading Khaled Hosseini's "A Thousand Splendid Suns", a fantastic book and believe me when I say a real tear jerk er. Set in Afghanistan it beautifully depicts the magnitude of the suffering which people there have had to endure because of the many wars which ravaged the country. More importantly it also highlights the plight of women in many developing and under developed countries in the world today. The atrocities which they have to face are vile and despicable. In the past few years a young Afghan girl named Malala Yousafsai has gained prominence after she started movements for the enforcement of 'The Rights Of Women' in Afghanistan. Her story is truly inspirational. Which is why the other book which I am going to suggest today is "I am Malala Yousaifsai". Check it out guys. Both if these books are phenomenal and more importantly they give us perspective. They take us out of our own comfortably life and thrust us into the shoes of people who are lesser fortunate than us, people who have witnessed and endured unspeakable horrors. It will make you empathize and you will surely count your own blessings and reading it. This is really important because until "All of us love each other", this world of ours is going no where. We have to understand that while some of us worry about "How Cool Our Selfie Looks" or about how many likes our Facebook display picture gets, there are people out there.. people like us who worried that they will not live to seen the dawn of tomorrow.   How fickle all our problems seem in front of theirs. Its time that privileged people like us broadened our perspective. Think about it.. and read the books.

That's all for now guys,

"Live Long And Prosper".

  1. For another book dealing with prejudice and emotions, I'd recommend "To Kill a Mockingbird".
